Maxum's Transportation Division is staffed by a group of experienced truck insurance and claims professionals that have an extensive knowledge of the business.
Led by Doug Hathaway and Rick Sforzo, the Transportation Division is dedicated to providing quality service and creative solutions for motor carrier liability, physical damage and cargo risks.
We market our transportation coverage through an exclusive number of general agents that specialize in truck insurance. The focus is primarily on motor carrier, physical damage and cargo coverages for owner-operators and small trucking risks.
Risk selection for trucking accounts is based on quality, stability, mileage, routes, radius and commodities hauled of an insured's operation. Preferred risks also include non-hazardous, dry, refrigerated or flatbed freight. Available policy limits for
liability is $1 million, physical damage is up to the value of equipment insured
and cargo up to the value of goods hauled.
Maxum's Transportation Division takes care not only in writing truck business, but also in handling and processing claims as they arise. All transportation claims are handled in-house by experienced Maxum staff and not by unaffiliated outside administrators.
